The NSA/CSS Commercial Solutions Center (NCSC) works with commercial companies to help make us safer at home and abroad. Today, more than ever, public-private partnerships are needed to protect national security communications, to prevent foreign adversaries from harming innocent people around the world, and to safeguard privacy.
Protecting the nation is primarily the U.S. Government's responsibility. The private sector also helps protect the nation by building and managing leading edge technology solutions used to share information and secure information systems. Industry drives technology innovation and understands global Information Technology (IT) trends. Industry also has insights into how foreign adversaries who wish to harm America and our Allies operate - either physically or in cyberspace. As the commercial market place continues to create game-changing products and services for cyber security, information assurance, and related technologies, NSA would like to hear from the business community.
NCSC offers unique opportunities to work with NSA:
- Capabilities Presentation Program: NCSC offers an opportunity for industry to showcase and discuss with NSA technical experts new technologies, capabilities, products, and services with potential applications for national security. Begin by completing our questionnaire.
Phone: (240) 373-4163 Email: email@example.com
- National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP): Strong information security products benefit everyone. NIAP aims to increase the use of commercial IT products by the national security community by developing requirements against which commercial products are evaluated. These same strong commercial products may be used by everyone. NIAP works openly and collaboratively with technical experts in industry, U.S. and foreign governments, and academia to develop these requirements. Companies may have their products evaluated by independent Common Criteria Testing Laboratories.
NCSC also supports the federal government as a technical expert in several areas to help protect the nation.
- Export Control: The U.S. Government controls exports of equipment, software, and technology as a means to promote our national security interests and foreign policy objectives. NSA provides technical support to the Department of Commerce and Department of Treasury, among others, on commercial encryption technology export issues.
Export Control Policy
- Committee on Foreign Investment in the U.S. (CFIUS): "International investment in the United States promotes economic growth, productivity, competitiveness, and job creation. It is the policy of the United States to support unequivocally such investment, consistent with the protection of National Security." (Executive Order 11858) NSA participates in and provides technical expertise to CFIUS, an inter-agency committee that reviews and evaluates foreign acquisition of U.S. business for national security implications.
