On 8 January 2015, ADM Rogers granted an interview to FOX Business News Producer Matt Dean in New York. In this wide-ranging interview about transparency, cyber threats, and support NSA recently offered to France in the wake of this month's terror attacks in Paris, ADM Rogers made clear the vital missions of both U.S. Cyber Command and NSA.
"We should feel comfortable talking in broad terms about what we do, why we do it, [and] what we don't do," he said.
ADM Rogers elaborated on remarks he gave on Capitol Hill in November regarding threats to national security. "I want to make sure everyone understands this is very real. This is nothing theoretical."
ADM Rogers also emphasized the need to span the divide between the public and private sectors in the interest of national cybersecurity.
"We need to harness the capabilities of both segments to work together to achieve an enhanced role of cybersecurity," he said.
