Biography - Acting Deputy Director, National Security Agency

Mrs. Fleisch was named as Acting Deputy Director, National Security Agency in December 2013. In this capacity, she acts as the Agency's chief operating officer, responsible for guiding and directing strategies, operations and policy.

Mrs. Fleisch began her career at NSA as an analyst and linguist in 1980. Her NSA assignments include service across signals intelligence and enabling organizations. Promoted to NSA's Senior Executive Service in 2001, she subsequently served in a number of senior leadership assignments in operations and on corporate staff before being selected as the NSA Executive Director in 2010.

A 1979 graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with degrees in finance and economics, Mrs. Fleisch completed the Post Graduate Intelligence program at the Defense Intelligence College in 1986. Her significant awards include two Presidential Rank Awards (2006, 2012), the Director, NSA Individual Leadership Award and the Meritorious Civilian Service Award.
