National Cryptologic Museum to Unveil Historic Exhibit Highlighting NSA’s Role in the Takedown of Osama Bin Laden

FORT MEADE, Md. – The National Cryptologic Museum announces the historic unveiling of never-before-seen artifacts that shed light on the National Security Agency’s (NSA) pivotal role in the takedown of Osama Bin Laden, the mastermind behind the September 11, 2001 attacks. This new exhibit will highlight untold stories and unseen evidence through a collection of newly declassified items.

The launch of the exhibit will take place on September 11, 2026. This exhibit underscores NSA’s crucial role in assisting warfighters in the takedown of Bin Laden, providing visitors with a unique and impactful perspective on this historic event.

"The exhibit is a testament to the dedication and expertise of the NSA in safeguarding our nation’s security," said Deana Bowles, curator of the National Cryptologic Museum. "We are honored to share these untold stories and unseen evidence with the public, offering a deeper understanding of the NSA’s critical contributions to national defense."

The National Cryptologic Museum is the only fully public museum in the Intelligence Community. It’s open Tuesday through Friday, and the first Saturday of the month from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Admission is free and no reservations are required.
