The American Library Association (ALA) has selected NSA's CryptoKids® webpage as one of the "2010 Great Web Sites for Kids." NSA's kids' webpage was among the 21 web sites to meet ALA's selection criteria for this achievement. The web sites considered are those intended for kids from birth to 14 years old and outstanding in content and conception. The criteria for selection to "Great Web Sites for Kids" include:

  • Authorship/Sponsorship
  • Purpose
  • Design and Stability
  • Content

ALA says it defines "great" as possessing "commendable quality" and "reflect and encourage young people's interests in exemplary ways."

NSA announced its Internet Kids Page in November 2005 to inspire future generations of codemakers and codebreakers. Using leading-edge software technology, and interactive games, puzzles, animation, and sound, a group of special characters help children develop their skills in computers, linguistics, mathematics, and more.
