Recruiting Diversity

Speaker: What we do is critical to the safety of our nation, so clearly part of that is understanding how people think. By having a workforce that's diverse from different religion, different social economic, different culture, you're able to tap into knowledge that otherwise you wouldn't have access to. Diversity is not just based on the skin color or the race that you come from. Diversity I think also includes your knowledge of the world around you. That collaborative knowledge to make NSA a unique place to work, to get a global perspective and to be effective at our mission, an organization such as the federal government would want a diverse workforce. If we're able to tap into that knowledge then I think we can be more effective with our missions, I think that NSA understands that, realizes the importance of that, and that's why diversity is such a critical initiative for the agency.
