
The National Security Agency is dedicated to diversity training and education, recognizing that education is essential for bringing diversity awareness to the workforce. Diversity education is an ongoing process, forever creating the understanding necessary for managing an inclusive and diverse workforce.
Presentations and seminars are customized and provided to the workforce to ensure that employees have the awareness, skills, and knowledge to carry the message of diversity into their personal work environments. The goal of our diversity training program is to convey the importance of a respectful work environment thereby maximizing every individual’s potential.
Some of the courses we offer are:
MANAGING DIVERSITY - This course provides a generic overview of diversity, aiming at the perspective that valuing and managing diversity in a fair way leads to great potential strength to all. Students will learn about some creative leadership tools that will help them manage diversity in the workplace.
DIVERSITY AWARENESS TRAINING - This course is directed toward individuals who serve or may serve on boards, panels, or committees charged with the responsibility of rating employees for selection purposes. This course is designed to make board members aware of and sensitive to internal biases, blind spots, assumptions, and other conditioning from society that can have an impact on selection decisions. Students are lead through a series of cumulative learning experiences that deepen their understanding of themselves and others in their work environment, giving them an opportunity to appreciate the contributions of a diverse workforce.
DISABILITY AWARENESS - Course presentation and video focus on recognizing, understanding, and dealing with disabilities in the workplace.
GENDER COMMUNICATION WORKSHOP - This course focuses on gender issues in the workplace. Diversity issues addressed include personality styles, communication styles, and how men and women are treated differently in society.
COLOR OF FEAR WORKSHOP - The "Color of Fear" is a documentary film produced and directed by Lee Mun Wah. This video is reflective of the pain and anguish that racism has caused in the lives of eight North American men of Asian, European, Latino, and African decent. This course will help students to understand the reality of racism today and to promote an atmosphere of continued healing in the work environment.
