Wendy Noble

Executive Director, National Security Agency

Ms. Wendy Noble is currently serving as the Executive Director of the National Security Agency. In this capacity, she works with NSA’s Director and Deputy Director to provide leadership in all areas of the enterprise and to represent NSA’s interests both internally and externally.

Ms. Noble began her NSA career in 1987 as a cryptologic linguist. Throughout her tenure she has served in numerous key technical and leadership roles including, Deputy Chief of the Collection Strategies and Requirements Center, Global Capabilities Manager for the Office of South Asia, Director of a joint Intelligence Community collection program, and Deputy Director for Data Acquisition. Most recently, Ms. Noble served as the Special United States Liaison Officer, London, NSA’s senior cryptologic representative in the United Kingdom.

Ms. Noble is certified as a Collection Officer and has completed a Joint Duty Assignment. She has also received three National Intelligence Meritorious Unit Citations, two Joint Meritorious Unit Awards, the Tordella Award, and most recently the Exceptional Civilian Service Award (ECSA). 

Ms. Noble is a graduate of the University of Maryland (B.S., Spanish Literature, 1985), the Russian Language Program at the Defense Language Institute (1980), and the NSA Basic Arabic Language Program (1990). Ms. Noble also attended the Institut de Français, Villafranchesur-Mer Institut de Francaise, France, and graduated from this program with an advanced level certificate (1977).
